With the start of Hanukkah on Tuesday and it being three days before Christmas, it's about time I write, now that the holiday gift rush has finally subsided. This truly is the most wonderful time of the year, especially for Boston sports' fans. The Bruins are now the best team in the Eastern Conference, the Patriots have clinched the AFC East for the umpteen time, and the Celtics are back and the season starts on Christmas day!
Beginning with the Bruins, the team has been on fire, led obviously by their stellar defense and goaltending. The difference between last year's team and this year is the improved offense. It isn't that one player stands above all, although Tyler Seguin is the team leader in points, but getting huge contributions from third and fourth line guys such as Rich Peverely, Chris Kelly, Daniel Paille, and Benoit Pouliot. Their contributions take the pressure off the first two lines to score and instead just letting the game come to them.
The Bruins went 12-0-1 in the month of November, which is incredible. They're 19-2-1 since November and are currently on a five game win streak. The Bruins play at home tomorrow (Friday) against the upstart Florida Panthers, who beat the Bruins at home two weeks ago. With all this winning, Bruins tickets have been flying off the shelf, as they are the hottest ticket in town. Combine that with the holiday shopping season and Bruins tickets are impossible to get. With most of January sold, the best time to head to a game would be weekdays because the start of Saturday afternoons drive the market for those games higher than night games.
The Patriots have been ho-hum while continuing their winning ways. After losing consecutive games against Pittsburgh and the New York Giants, the Pats have run off six wins in a row. The worries are still there regarding the defense as the Pats rank last in terms of yards given up, but are 14th in points against per game, which is really all that matters. The Pats take on the Dolphins this week, who have been showing signs of life, although they fired their head coach Tony Sparano, so the Pats need to make sure this isn't a trap game.
Currently, the Patriots are the number one seed and if they win out their remaining schedule they will have home field advantage throughout the playoffs, even though we know that home field doesn't guarantee a trip to the Super Bowl as last year illustrated. The last two Patriots games are on Christmas Eve and New Year's Day, not exactly great days to have games. That means tickets are cheap, sometimes going for below face value, so for the best prices on Patriots tickets feel free to check out our website TicketsofBoston.com.
The Celtics are back as the NBA and its players agreed to a new CBA. The Celtics did not make any big deals during the short offseason, in fact, they were the victims of bad luck as forward Jeff Green, whom we received in a trade for Kendrick Perkins, was diagnosed with a cardiac aneurism and is out for the season due to surgery. The Big Three is now a little older so the shortened 66 game season will be wearing on them heavily, especially with three games in consecutive days. Celtics tickets will be easy to obtain this season (besides the Heat and Lakers games) due to the quick turnover of home games and they'll be at good prices trending towards face value.
With that, I wish everyone the happiest Hanukkah and the merriest Christmas, as well as a blessed New Year.

The Bruins Finding Their Stride?
The first month of the 2011 NHL regular season could be one the Boston Bruins would like to forget. While it was nice to see the banner raising ceremony, the Bruins apparently forgot that last season is over and this season is out to crown a new champion because they only won three games in the month of October, which put them last in the conference.
Their play showed that the Bruins weren't interested in making the crisp pass or playing the stout defense that they are known for. Basically, the Bruins were still nourishing their Stanley Cup hangover.
With the poor play, questions began to surface as to how to spark the players, as we all knew they had the talent and could put it together from time to time to get the big win, as they did over the Blackhawks in Chicago. Maybe a trade or a coach firing? Cam Neely trusted that the coaching brass would be able to put it together and hopefully a new month meant the page would be turned on last season and ugly October.
Since the turn of the month, the Bruins may have found their stride. After averaging 1.9 goals per game in October, the Bruins have won three straight, scoring an average of six goals per game. The biggest catalyst of the turnaround has been Tyler Seguin, who has five points in the three games, including a great hat trick over the Maple Leafs. He is also the Bruins' leading point scorer this season.
Seguin's production has helped ease the pressing by the Bruins' first line of Krejci, Horton and Lucic. In November, both Krejci and Lucic have six points in three games, whereas Horton has three. This line is expected to produce and set the tone for the rest of the forward lines and if they can continue this trend, the Bruins should have no problem climbing back up the standings.
As for Bruins tickets, it's been pretty stale because of their poor play. Many games during the week have been going for well below face value. But, as the Bruins begin to win, demand has increased so while weekday games are the cheapest, weekend games are still priced at or above face value. Be sure to checkout TicketsofBoston.com for all of your Bruins tickets!

The Leaves Are A-Changin'
We're into October and although the weather still has a summer feel to it, Boston is definitely in the fall spirit. When I last wrote, the Red Sox were in midst of losing the biggest September lead ever in baseball history and I predicted that they would pull it out in the end. Well I was wrong obviously, and the aftermath was worse than what anyone expected. Terry Francona was let go as manager, then published reports suggested he was having serious issues in his personal life, which may had affected his managerial performance. Beckett, Lackey and Lester became fried chicken eating and beer guzzling fools in the clubhouse prior and during games. There was complete disarray amongst the players, manager, and management. Fast forward to today, where even Theo Epstein is leaving to become the GM of the Chicago Cubs, hopefully he will succeed in erasing their 103 year old championship drought.
So what's next for the Sox? Ownership has become a pariah among the public that loved Francona. People are not pleased that the fun-loving "Idiots" of 2004 have turned into egotistical and overpaid complainers, and ownership has a lot to do with creating a organization that puts statistics first and team chemistry last. As the teams currently in the playoffs illustrate, it's all about camaraderie and care for one another, not the "25 players, 25 cabs" mentality that exists here. There's no word on who will replace Francona because the Sox first must replace Epstein, and the man do that job will most likely be Epstein's right hand man Ben Cherington.
Now onto a sport where the players work their tails off, hockey! The Boston Bruins opened up their 2011-2012 regular season at home against the Philadelphia Flyers. It was an exciting night because the team brought out the Stanley Cup, the 1972 Stanley Cup team, and then raised the championship banner to the rafters. As for repeating, the Bruins aren't heavy favorites as most of them reside in the Western Conference and experts still love the underachieving Washington Capitals. Most of us fans are worried about the Cup "Hangover", which means that the Bruins will not play as hard or care as much because they are still in celebratory mode and satisfied from winning the Cup in June. They played a solid game against Philly, but they came up short losing 1-0. They're next game against Tampa Bay, they played very well winning 4-1. Over the last two games though, they've played sloppily and have lost both games to subpar teams, Colorado and Carolina.
Obviously it's only been four games, but the Bruins will break out of the funk because of their goaltending and spitfire players such as Tyler Seguin and Brad Marchand. I expect the team to get back in shape and eventually take over the division by early November.
Boston Bruins tickets are everywhere and especially cheap during the weekdays, whereas the weekend is a bit more money but not as expensive as they will be come post-holiday season. My advice is to buy them up now because the demand for presents will send the prices skyrocketing on the market. The best place to find Bruins tickets is TicketsofBoston.com, of course, or you can call us at 617-787-2370 where we'll gladly find whatever seat and price your looking for.
The New England Patriots have once again come out the gates strong into the first quarter of the NFL season. The Pats currently sit at 4-1, with big wins over the Dolphins, Chargers, Raiders and Jets, but losing only to the upstart Buffalo Bills who are also 4-1.
The Pats take on the erratic Dallas Cowboys this week at 415PM. You gotta feel for Cowboys QB Tony Romo, one minute he's loved by everyone for playing through a broken rib and leading the team to victory, then the next he's hated for throwing three interceptions and blowing the game against Detroit, and so on. Dallas' main strength will be their pass rush duo of Demarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer so the Pats' tackles better be ready for an aggressive attack. If the Pats protect Brady then they'll win easy, if not then expect the game to be closer because of the Cowboys are very able to score a lot of points. Pats win 31-17.
Not many tickets available for this game, although prices will decrease because the game is very close and there's still a good amount of tickets on the market to suffice a drop. The best priced games will be the KC Monday night game, Indianapolis, Miami and Buffalo, as they are later on in the season when its colder out.

Biggest Choke Ever?
The last post written on September 7th, the Red Sox were flying high, having an eight game lead on the Rays for the wild card playoff spot and only behind the Yankees by two and half games for the AL East lead. Fast forward to September 27th, how things have changed... The Sox have slowly eroded their lead to a tie with the Rays, with only two games remaining in the season. After an exceptional summer, which they won 53 games and lost only 27 over three months, the Sox have lost 20 of their last 27 games.
The biggest issue has been ineffective starting pitching. Injuries have taken somewhat of a toll, as Buchholz has been out with a stress fracture in his back, Matsuzka's out all season, and Beckett was out a bit because of an ankle. Injuries aside, the team's top three pitchers; Beckett, Lackey, and Lester have pitched quite awful, even against inferior teams. Lester has allowed 16 earned runs in his last three starts, Beckett has allowed 12 in his last two, and ditto for Lackey. Even worst for Lackey, he's getting even more media scrutiny due to his personal life, and he is not adjusting to Boston, even after his second year.
Offensively, the Red Sox bats have been inadequate. Over the month of September, they are averaging five runs per game, which may be skewed due to a couple games in which they scored 18 runs. Their struggles may be due to panicking because of early deficits, which leads to pressing and overexertion to score runs.
Two games left, Bedard on the mound tonight and Lester tomorrow. If they end up in a tie with Tampa, then it's up to Wakefield or Lackey on short rest. Tampa has their aces going in rookie Hellickson and David Price against the Yankees' minor leaguers, because they've already clinched. I want to be optimistic, but I can't. This fall from grace reminds me of the Red Sox, prior to 2004, which they would always lead the division/wild card, then lose it over the last month. My take: Sox win the last two games, Tampa loses tonight because Hellickson can't handle the pressure, wins tomorrow with Price, but too little too late as the Red Sox back into the playoffs.
Red Sox playoff tickets will be trending towards the cheaper side because the demand isn't there for a lackluster team playing in a first round playoff. TicketsofBoston.com already has playoff tickets available, so check out the website for options.

That's the End of Summer
It is past Labor Day, which means it is the unofficial end of summer for most of us. Back to work, no more weekend vacations, the weather will get cooler, and the leaves will eventually change color. Looking back at the summer of 2011, it was a very contentions, if not exciting, summer. It began with the NFL in a lockout, the Red Sox struggling, and the Bruins marching towards their first Stanley Cup in almost 40 years. The NFL ended their lockout, which was highlighted by the embrace of Colts center Jeff Saturday and Pats owner Bob Kraft, who had just lost his wife Myra to cancer. The Red Sox found their stride, although some of the players haven't, and lead most of the summer in first place. Lastly, we all know the Bruins won it all over the Canucks, in an epic seven game series.
As we enter the fall season, the Red Sox look as they will be clinching a spot in the playoffs, whether as the AL East champion or a wild card has yet to be seen because they are still in a tight race against the Yankees, but ahead of everyone in the wild card standings. As the summer progressed, the Sox have been hampered by injuries and slow play by Adrian Gonzalez. Gonzalez participated in the home run derby and it is said that the home run derby will ruin swings. After the derby Gonzalez "struggled" through the end of July, only hitting two home runs, but picking his power up in August, hitting five. After a few good starts, John Lackey has regressed into an unreliable pitcher again, not faring well in his last two starts, allowing the usual five runs per outing. The summer also saw a rash of injuries including Clay Buchholz' back, which still has him out, JD Drew's shoulder has had him out since mid July, Kevin Youkilis missed a couple weeks due to his back, and now Josh Beckett has sprained his ankle pitching in Toronto. Currently, the Sox are 2.5 games behind the Yankees with 21 games left in the season. They are eight games ahead in the wild card. They still have four games remaining against the Rays and three against the Yankees. After this next road trip, Tito Francona will have to figure out whether to rest his players and gear up for the playoffs via the wild card or try to take home field for the AL playoffs (NL has home field because they won the all star game) and beat the Yankees for the AL East crown. Now that it is September, the tourism is finished and the kids are back to school, which means demand has slowed considerably for the Red Sox. With lower demand, prices will sink at or below face value leading to great savings for you! Check out TicketsofBoston.com for our great selection of Red Sox tickets, including the playoff games too.
At long last the NFL season is here! The season kicks off this Thursday with the champion Green Bay Packers taking on the New Orleans Saints, which should be a great game with quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees slinging it out. It should also be an emotional Sunday on September 11th as the New York Giants head to Washington to face the Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys travel to New York to face the Jets due to the 10th anniversary of the attacks. The Patriots, who just let go cornerback Darius Butler and talented, but lazy safety Brandon Meriweather, will be facing the Miami Dolphins on Monday night with their new look weapon of Reggie Bush. The key will be the Patriots offensive line protecting Brady against the Dolphins' pass rush consisting of Cameron Wake and Jason Taylor. The Dolphins also have a new offensive coordinator so the Pats' linebackers will have to be wary of how they will use Bush out of the backfield, as Miami is known for using unusual offensive tactics to win. The first four Patriot home games are in very high demand, so I would advise anyone to buy tickets as soon as they can because tickets are flying off the shelves, and prices will only continue to rise. For the lowest prices on Patriots Tickets, be sure to look at our website and find your tickets.
There are still a couple outdoor concerts left this year, Incubus is playing Friday the 9th, prices are below face value, Toby Keith is playing Saturday the 17th, and that seems to be a big show. Big indoor shows this fall, Jay-Z and Kanye West are at the Garden on November 21, ton of shows at the Orpheum, and great comedy shows at the Wilbur.

Coming Down the Stretch
Who would of thought at the beginning of the season with the Red Sox woes that they would be 27 games over .500 ball? Well, maybe John Lackey, since he told me to relax because the Sox would be "in first place come mid July". It is now August 16th and the Red Sox are once again tied with the Yankees for first place of the AL East. It's been a see-saw battle with the Red Sox beating the Yankees handily head to head, but struggling against awful teams such as Seattle, whereas the Yankees are beating up of the soft teams and losing to the Sox. With 41 games left, after today's double header, it's going to be one heck of a battle to see who wins the division, along with the all important home field advantage. Out of the final 41 games, 19 are at Fenway, while the Yankees have only 16 left at home, including a three game series against the Sox from 9/25-9/28.
The team seems to be going through spurts of offensive production. While they lead in most offensive categories, the offense has averaged only 5 runs per game over the last nine games, leaving the pitchers helpless if any mistakes are made. Adrian Gonzalez has one home run and fifteen rbi's since the all star break and many people are attributing his struggles due to the home run derby, which causes batters to adjust their swing for power and not timely contact. Jacoby Ellsbury is still raking, hitting a career high 21 home runs and has 75 rbi's. A bright spot has been John Lackey, who has won six of his last seven starts and seems to have left his past troubles behind.
In terms of tickets, the Red Sox have not been selling as expected prior to the season starting. This could be due to the stock market uncertainty, unstable job market, and maybe just too high of a priced ticket. Granted, prices are still very high and demand is creating that marketplace, however, there has been many games during the July and August months that tickets have been selling below face value, which is a rarity considering the Red Sox are a prominent team and Fenway Park is the number one tourist attraction in Boston. I believe the Bruins championship run took a lot of the revenues that were meant for the Red Sox in the summer time, so people are putting off their ticket buying until the Patriots return in September.
Speaking of the Patriots, there was still a lockout when I last wrote in June, but obviously the two parties came together and settled on a ten year CBA, only losing one preseason game. The Pats made some big headline moves during the frantic day of free agency, trading for troubled defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth and outspoken wide receiver Chad Ochocinco. The Pats played their first preseason game last Thursday against the Jacksonville Jaguars and while Tom Brady and other starters didn't play, the Patriots' backups played very good as they won 47-12. The Pats play again on Thursday August 18th in Tampa against the young Buccaneers. The home opener against the San Diego Chargers is on September 18 at 4:15PM and Tickets of Boston has a ton of Patriots tickets on sale for that game, as well as every other game, including the final preseason game against the Giants for below face value.

Summer Time!
As we finally enter into the summer season, it is apparent that the best place to be a fan is in Boston. When I last wrote, the Bruins tied the Stanley Cup Finals series 2-2, after two great games at home. They ended up losing the fifth game in Vancouver, only to come back to Boston and win game six in a dominating fashion. Unlike years past (basically pre-2004), Boston was very confident that the Bruins would win game seven in Vancouver. Boston arrived in Vancouver, only to destroy the Canucks by the score of 4-0, Tim Thomas lead the way with the shutout and he also won the Conn Smythe trophy, which goes to the most valuable player in the playoffs. It was extremely exciting to see the Bruins win it all, they were the last Boston team to not win a championship within the last ten years.
The victory parade was Saturday morning, and it was pandemonium. The city expected a million fans to arrive, and estimates stated that there were easily over a million spectators, making it the biggest sports parade in Boston history. The Stanley Cup was also paraded around Boston, making its way through the North End, rooftop parties, and even sighted down Martha's Vineyard this past weekend.
Lastly regarding the Bruins off-season, they ended up picking a fantastic defenseman, via Friday's NHL Draft, named Dougie Hamilton. Hamilton is expected to make a impact in a couple years when the eighteen year old eventually arrives to the NHL. The NHL schedule for the 2011-2012 season was also released and the Bruins open the season against the Philadelphia Flyers on October 6th. Vancouver comes to Boston on January 7th.
Onto the Red Sox, who have gone 16-6 in June so far. Adrian Gonzalez continues to play like he will be the AL MVP, David Ortiz is going through a career resurgence, although it is a contract year thus the better numbers. The only issues as of late are the pitching; John Lackey continues to struggle, even after his DL stint, and continues to debate who is at fault for his poor performance; the media, the team, or his personal life. With his struggles, and the recent better performances of pitcher Andrew Miller, the Sox will have to make a decision on their rotation; stick the $82.5 million dollar man in the bullpen or spot start Miller.
The Sox have begun their road trip to National League ballparks and it hasn't started well. They lost two out of three against the upstart Pittsburgh Pirates, now they are taking on the Philadelphia Phillies, then finishing up against the lowly Houston Astros. The problem that manager Terry Francona faces is what to do with David Ortiz. He's hitting so well, but he's a DH, who can only play first base. Can't play him there though, Gonzalez is there, but Adrian has volunteered to play right field to allow both hot hitters to play. So far, Ortiz has been pinch hitting with limited results.
The Red Sox come home on the July 4th holiday to begin a seven game homestand, and we have plenty of tickets for the whole week, so check out TicketsofBoston.com and choose your seats to go to Fenway!
